TippyTalk system requirements & internet connection

The devices supported and what internet connectivity is required to use the TippyTalk app.

Compatible devices & operating systems

TippyTalk works on smartphones and tablets running the following operating systems:

  • Android: version 6.0 or later (released 2015)
  • iOS / iPadOS: version 13.0 or later (released 2019)

Please note: TippyTalk is not compatible with devices running other operating systems such as Windows or HarmonyOS

Internet connection requirements

TippyTalk requires an active internet connection for most of its functions. However, there is one exception:

  • The automatic pronunciation of text in the Speech function for TippyTalker mode can work in offline mode

To enable offline speech functionality

  1. Make sure your iPad or tablet is connected to the internet.
  2. Open the TippyTalk app while connected, this loads the TippyTalker cards into the device's cache.
  3. Once cached, the Speech function will continue to work even without an internet connection.
